SAVE SOUTHAMPTON: END THE BAN ON SURFING
Earlier this week, Southampton Village police started enforcing a decades-old Village Code regulation, which outlaws surfing on village beaches from June 15th to September 15th each year. The fines for violations of this code can be up to $1000. The surf community is beyond disappointed by the decision to enforce Village Code regulation #80-1, and their overwhelming response has put this topic on the agenda for the upcoming Southampton Board of Trustees meeting.
